Royal Caribbean Independence of the Sea Ship

Royal Caribbean Floats Out Independence of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International's Independence of the Seas will make its debut in Southampton, England, in less than a year. With its hull now complete, Independence of the Seas, under construction at Aker Yards in Turku, Finland, reached an important maritime milestone Friday when it was "floated out" -- moved from dry dock to wet dock -- for the final months of finishing work leading to its May 2008 debut. The Independence will be the largest ship ever to be homeported in Europe.
